Meredith was born in Johnson City, TN but grew up mostly in the mid-Atlantic area, and it took her about 25 years to get back to her home state. She completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, and her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Meredith completed residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and then came to Vanderbilt for her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Her clinical practice is in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and the inpatient and outpatient pulmonary services. She loves working with medical students, and is the director of the Pulmonary Block in Homeostasis, co-course director for the Critical Illness Immersion course, and a small group facilitator in FMK year. Meredith spends her free time with her amazing husband, Brian, and their two daughters, ages 3 and 1.
