Walter Clair, MD, MPH

Medical Director, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiology


Dr. Walter Clair is a Harvard alumnus who did his fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Duke. He was in private practice until 2006 when he joined the Vanderbilt cardiology faculty. He currently serves as Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute.
In addition to serving as a Chapman College mentor since 2011, Dr. Clair is involved in the Nashville community through his work with the Social Action Committee of Chi Boule and the 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee which mentors young males.
Dr. Clair is married to Dr. Deborah Webster-Clair who serves on the boards of several community organizations. They have two adult sons with whom they enjoy skiing, running and road biking. Dr. Clair enjoys variety in both books and wines.
