Student Accounts & Systems

  • VUNet ID and OTHER IT

Your VUNet ID and Epassword will be your personal identity code for logging onto password-protected sites at Vanderbilt.  Follow the instructions at THIS LINK to establish your VUnet ID, email, and DUO identification. When setting up your email account, make sure that you use the instructions for Vmail (NOT gmail).  This page also contains links to the FAQ’s and information on who to contact should you need assistance with creating an e-password.

  • Commodore ID

The Commodore ID is your identification on-campus.  The card office is in the Sarratt Student Center. Note that you can get a mobile card on your phone, but a physical card is required for access to all VUMC buildings (which includes the biomedical library, many lab buildings, and Light Hall where classes take place). CLICK HERE for more information on ID cards.

  • Final Transcripts and GRE Scores

Official transcripts are required only after an offer of admission is made and accepted.

    • For any school you listed on your application which grated a degree, you must request an official transcript showing the degree has been conferred.  See information below about submitting yours.

A document is considered official only if it is sent directly to Vanderbilt from your institution. Your admission is contingent upon Vanderbilt’s Centralized Document Management (CDM) receiving an official transcript directly from the institution attended no later than August 31 of your entry year. Official transcripts can be sent either via the postal service or via secure electronic delivery to cdm@vanderbilt.edu. Your checklist on the Application Status page will indicate if you need to submit an official transcript.

  • Housing

We do not provide a formal housing service, but incoming students have had success using sites such as Zillow and Apartments.com.

You can access the Graduate School’s off-campus housing information and service HERE

You can connect with potential roommates in your cohort on the Slack channel.

  • Health Insurance & Immunization requirements

The University requires that all students in degree programs have health insurance. The BRET Office will pay for this through your student account.  You can view insurance plan information HERE.  If you are covered by another plan you must waive the coverage provided by Vanderbilt.  You can do this by following THIS LINK

There is an immunization form due to Student Health Services before you can be enrolled. Here is a LINK to the requirements page.  Because your health information is HIPAA protected, any questions about health requirements should be directed to studenthealth@vumc.org.

You will not be able to enroll in courses until this record is received.  Your insurance will be effective on the first day of orientation.
