Rafael Paez, MD, MSCI ’23, recently received the American Thoracic Society 2023-2024 ATS Diversity Grant, for his proposal: “Cone beam assisted Robotic Interventional Study: A Pragmatic endpoint clustered randomized trial”.
This study will follow the general template of the nearly completed RELIANT trial, which compared navigational to robotic bronchoscopy using the same highly innovative cluster design. The study was able to recruit almost 400 patients in one year (versus 258 in 4 years for prior conventional RCT, VERITAS) in partnership with the Learning Healthcare System.
