1.We are committed to patient-centered care ― giving our patients the best care, at the right time, in the right place, by doctors and team members encompassing all of the subspecialties of ophthalmology.

2. Our collaborative culture fosters teamwork and the pursuit of excellence in all of our mission areas ― patient care, research and education.

3. Our Vanderbilt Vision Research Center includes more than 50 vision scientists from across campus who collaborate to cure blinding diseases such as macular degeneration and glaucoma.

4. Our educational programs encompass all areas of eye care and vision science and include ophthalmology residents and fellows, postdoctoral research fellows, and medical and graduate students, as well as training programs for pediatric optometrists, orthoptists and ophthalmic technicians.

5. We are committed to having diverse faculty, staff and residents who work in an environment where all feel included and valued.
