Vanderbilt Medical Alumni Reunion 2016
Our next biennial VUSM Reunion, Oct. 20-22, is fast approaching. Reunion festivities will begin on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 20, with a golf outing at Vanderbilt’s Legends Club, followed by an evening welcome reception and awards program at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. This year we will honor our 2016 VMAA Distinguished Alumni Award recipients, Levi Watkins Jr., M.D.,’70 (posthumous award) and Kathleen M. Neuzil, M.D., HS ‘91, FE ‘92, MPH ‘98. On Friday, Oct. 21, the Reunion schedule features CME opportunities, Quinq Class inductions (classes of ‘66 and ‘67), luncheons for all alumni, walking tours and evening anniversary class parties. Saturday, Oct. 22, Reunion activities include student presentations, as well as a tailgate and football game (VU vs. Tennessee State University). VMAA Welcomes New Board Members
The VMAA welcomes the following newly elected board representatives whose four-year terms will begin at Reunion 2016: John Matthews, M.D., HS ‘80 (Tennessee); Rohan Shah, M.D., ‘08, FE ‘14, BE ‘04 (Tennessee); Anna Person, FAC, (Infectious Diseases Society); Deborah Sherman, M.D., HS ‘90, FAC ‘00 (Savage Society); Stephen Strickland Jr., M.D., MSCI ‘10, FAC (Hematology/Oncology Society); and Robert Boyce, M.D., ‘96, HS ‘01 (Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Society). In addition, Laura Sortori, M.D., (Pediatrics) and Karan Shah, M.D., (Emergency Medicine) will join the board as the house staff representatives. Jason Singer (VMS IV, President) will serve as the board’s new student representative.
