Charles Cannon, M.D., HS ‘64, ‘74, died Feb. 17. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Windsor, Julia and Grady; and six grandchildren.
C. Whitney Caulkins Jr., M.D., HS ‘48, died Jan. 20. He was 93. Dr. Caulkins is preceded in death by his wife, Jennie, and is survived by his children, Dave and Mike, and four grandchildren.
Brevator Creech, M.D., ‘67, HS ‘69, died Dec. 22, 2015. He was 74. Dr. Creech is survived by his wife, Joni; children Brev, Melissa and Greg; and two grandchildren.
James Crook, M.D., FE ‘79, died March 20. He was 74. Dr. Crook was preceded in death by his wife, Bette, and is survived by children, Sarah and Susan.
Roy Douglass Jr., M.D., ‘46, HS ‘47, ‘50, BA ‘43, died Dec. 13, 2015. Dr. Douglass is survived by his wife of 70 years, Carol; children, David, Suzanne, Beth; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David Dugger, M.D., ‘76, BE ‘72, died Jan. 10. He was 65. Dr. Dugger is survived by his wife, Cynthia.
C. Stuart Exon, M.D., HS ‘50, died Feb. 14. He was 95. Dr. Exon is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Ellen and Charles; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Albert Finch Jr., M.D., ‘46, HS ‘47, died Dec. 5, 2015. He was 93. Dr. Finch was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane, and is survived by his wife, Sally; children, Ann, Beth, Gail and Kim; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
William Gordon Jr., M.D., HS ‘64, died March 29. He was 81. Dr. Gordon was preceded in death by his son, William, and is survived by his son, David, many family members and friends.
Daniel Hightower Sr., M.D., ‘64, HS ‘69, FAC ‘00, BA ‘61, died Nov. 23, 2015. He was 76. Dr. Hightower is survived by his children, Elizabeth, Anne, Daniel and Catherine; and four grandchildren.
Oliver Jones Jr., M.D., HS ‘64, died Dec. 2, 2015. He was 82. Dr. Jones was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy, and is survived by his wife, Sally; children Louise, Nancy, Patricia, Oliver and Thom; and four grandchildren.
L. Douglass King, M.D., HS ‘89, FE ‘90, died Dec. 21, 2015. He was 74. Dr. King is survived by his wife, Birdie; children, Greg and Jennifer; and 10 grandchildren.
Jack Knight, M.D., FAC ‘59, died March 9. He was 98. Dr. Knight was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy, and daughter, Caroline, and is survived by children, Robert, James and John; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Paul Manchester Jr., M.D. ‘45, BA ‘43, died Oct. 28, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Margaret, Alice, Emily, Paul and Virginia; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Jim Middleton, M.D., ‘47, HS ‘49, FE ‘50, died Feb. 16. He was 92. Dr. Middleton is survived by his children, Lynn and Gregory.
Thomas Minor, M.D., ‘57, BA ‘54, died Jan. 16. He was 82. Dr. Minor is survived by his wife, Ann; children Catherine, Thomas, Paul and Randall; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
George Nichopoulos, M.D., ‘59, HS ‘63, died Feb. 24. He was 88. Dr. Nichopoulos is survived by his wife, Edna; children, Christine, Elaine and Dean; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Arthur Pinto, M.D., HS ‘82, died Feb. 16. He was 62. Dr. Pinto is survived by his brothers, Patrick and Edward, sisters Rita, Daphne and Thelma, and nieces and nephews.
Charles Rawlinson “Rollo” Park, M.D., FAC ‘02, a pioneering diabetes researcher at VUMC, died May 7. He was 100. Dr. Park is survived by his wife, Jane Park, Ph.D., son, Edwards; and two grandchildren.
Lenor Ribeiro, M.D., FAC ‘77, died Nov. 27, 2015. He was 96. Dr. Ribeiro was predeceased by his wife, Maria, and is survived by his children, Silvia, Roberto, Elizabeth and Monica; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Jack Rice, M.D., ‘55, HS ‘60, FAC ‘01, BA ‘52, died Oct. 14, 2015. He was 86. Dr. Rice is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Alexander, Adam and Elizabeth; and four grandchildren.

John Sawyers, M.D., HS ‘58, FAC ‘61-’95, professor of Surgery, Emeritus, died March 18. He was 90. Dr. Sawyers was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Sawyers, M.D., and is survived by their three children, Charles, Al and Julia.
Frederick Smith, M.D., ‘44, BA ‘42, died March 17. He was 93. Dr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and is survived by his children, Sharyn and Linda.
Fridolin Sulser, M.D., FAC ‘02, died Jan. 3. He was 89. Dr. Sulser is survived by his children, Anna, Adrian, Daniel and Bettina; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Brian Sweetman, M.D., FE ‘70, died Jan. 19. He was 79. Dr. Sweetman is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Peter, Brendan and Gareth; and four grandchildren.
