Biography
I began my research journey as a medical student majoring in preventive medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, Vietnam. I later obtained a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Taipei Medical University, Taiwan. My professional experience and research interests center on health risk behaviors, healthcare quality, health literacy, and their relationships with chronic disease outcomes in resource-limited settings. During my PhD studies at Vanderbilt, I aim to explore the association between biological signatures, health risk behaviors, and health outcomes.

Why Vanderbilt?
I chose to pursue my doctoral degree at Vanderbilt due to its large-scale cohort projects, such as the Shanghai Men’s and Women’s Health Studies and the Southern Community Cohort Study, as well as the impactful research on genetics and cancers led by faculty and research teams at Vanderbilt. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to engage in coursework and collaborate on research projects between Vanderbilt and Vietnamese institutions.
