Biography
I completed my MBBS degree at Bayero University Kano and earned a master’s in public health (MPH) degree with a focus in epidemiology and biostatistics from Texas A&M University. My research focuses on the overlap of cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and chronic kidney disease, particularly in individuals living with HIV. I am pursuing my PhD here at Vanderbilt University under the mentorship of Dr. Cassiane Robinson-Cohen to become a more skilled and technically distinguished researcher.
Why Vanderbilt?
I chose Vanderbilt because it offers the perfect mix of strong training in epidemiology, a collaborative research environment, and opportunities to work on real-world health challenges. I’m excited to learn from incredible mentors and make a difference in understanding how chronic diseases impact people’s lives.
