Associate Professor, Medicine
Associate Professor, Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology

The Gaddy Lab is a microbiological laboratory that focuses on the interaction of bacterial pathogens with host cells. We use molecular biology, bacterial genetics, biochemistry, and high resolution microscopy tools to study these interactions. Our goal is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms behind bacterial pathogenesis in an effort to identify new potential antimicrobial therapeutic or vaccine targets. We focus our studies on the landscape of the bacterial cell surface and the contribution of metal homeostasis to the interaction of host and pathogen cells.
