The ASPIRE Path in Molecular Medicine

Miriam is originally from Madison, WI and graduated with a B.S. in microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019. She joined the lab of Dr. Jennifer Gaddy in 2020 and is interested in studying bacterial pathogenesis. Her thesis project will focus on uncovering the molecular mechanisms used by Group B Streptococcus (GBS) to cause disease in pregnant women and neonates. In addition, she will be investigating the use of vitamin D supplementation as remedy for GBS infections.
