ASCEND Committee

Mission Statement

1. We aim to strengthen the sense of community and well-being within our department by organizing events and programs that bring together students, faculty, and staff. These include game nights, group bike rides, book clubs, music in the park, and other shared-interest activities.
2. Our goal is to share our passion for science and discovery with communities beyond Vanderbilt through outreach activities. We aim to build public trust in science by offering a local perspective on the cutting-edge research happening in our department.
3. We want to support our trainees through programming that addresses timely and relevant topics at various stages of graduate school.
