The Markham Lab investigates C. difficile bacterial toxin pathogenesis and the mechanisms of microbially influenced colorectal cancer tumorigenesis. Our long-term goal is to understand how changes in the human microbiome affect epithelial cell signaling events and inflammatory responses in colorectal cancer.
