VU Biomedical PhD Outcomes
The BRET Office at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine used internet searches of publicly-available information to determine the employment outcomes of our biomedical PhD graduates who earned their degree between 2007 and 2018.
First non-training position of VU biomedical PhD alumni who graduated between 2007-2018
As of summer 2019, 603 biomedical PhD alumni who graduated from May 2007 to August 2018 had obtained their first non-training position. Figure 1 shows the sector (left) in which they were employed, and their career type (right). Figure 2 shows their job function. Figure 3 shows the types of institutions, within the academic sector , in which our alumni (n=235) obtained their first non-training positions and Figure 4 shows the types of academic institutions within each career type that our alumni were employed in. Figure 5 shows their job locations within continental US.
