VU Biomedical Ph.D. Outcomes
The BRET Office at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine used internet searches of publicly available information to determine the employment outcomes of our biomedical Ph.D. graduates who earned their degree between 2007 and 2018.
First non-training position of VU biomedical Ph.D. alumni who graduated between 2007-2018
As of summer 2019, 603 biomedical Ph.D. alumni who graduated from May 2007 to August 2018 had obtained their first non-training position. Figure 1 shows the sector (left) in which they were employed, and their career type (right). Figure 2 shows their job function. Figure 3 shows the types of institutions, within the academic sector, in which our alumni (n=235) obtained their first non-training positions and Figure 4 shows the types of academic institutions within each career type that our alumni were employed in. Figure 5 shows their job locations within continental US.
