My research project focuses on how endothelial-epithelial communication influences the lung microvasculature during acute respiratory distress syndrome. I am interested in looking at how exosomes affect barrier dysfunction caused after sepsis and trauma. In addition, analysis of extracellular vesicles could reveal a new biomarker for predicting ARDS progression and survival.
