Madhvi Venkatesh, D.Phil., Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, serves as the Director of the IGP. Dr. Venkatesh obtained her D.Phil. from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom as an NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholar. Her dissertation work utilized cryo-electron microscopy and tomography to study the protein structure and localization of human pyruvate kinase isoforms and bacterial chemosensory proteins. After serving as the Associate Director of Graduate Education at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Venkatesh joined the IGP as its inaugural Curriculum Director in 2021. Dr. Venkatesh’s research agenda includes learning outcomes, continuous program improvement using evidence-based practices, and understanding student self-perceptions.
