The Burkewitz lab studies the biological processes of aging and the roles that the ER and mitochondria play in stress resistance and protection from age related disease. My project will study how disrupted crosstalk between the mitochondria and ER influence aging as well as the mechanisms in these organelles that preserve longevity.
