My research in Dr. Choi’s lab focuses on the role of the transcription factor Sox9 in the onset and progression of metaplasia during gastric carcinogenesis. I use tools like immunofluorescence microscopy, CRISPR, and qPCR (among others) on mouse and organoid models to investigate my hypothesis that Sox9 is a driver of metaplasia in the gastric mucosa.
