I seek to understand how the tumor microenvironment impacts cancer metastasis. Specifically, my research focuses on how ASPN, a secreted protein localized to the tumor stroma, leads to increased metastasis in men with prostate cancer. I will seek to determine the molecular mechanisms in which ASPN contributes to prostate cancer metastasis, which will unveil new potential therapeutic targets and improve the lives of men impacted by prostate cancer.
