Broadly my project is looking at the effects of maternal diet on neurodevelopment. I am interested in exploring the behavioral and synaptic changes that occur in animals raised on high fat and/or high carb diets. Using pharmacology, optogenetics and whole cell patch clamp electrophysiology I hope to tease apart the mechanisms by which poor nutrition alters neuronal signaling.
