I am studying Type 2 diabetes. I will be looking specifically at the G-protein-coupled receptors EP3 and EP4. EP4 has been shown to promote beta cell survival while EP3 has been shown to inhibit beta cell survival. I will study how a beta cell-specific knockout of EP3 and EP4 affects beta cell proliferation and survival.
