I utilize mouse models to study the role of the cation chloride cotransporter, KCC3, in the peripheral nervous system. More specifically, I am trying to understand KCC3's role in cell volume regulation and maintenance of intracellular chloride. It is hypothesized that a loss of function of KCC3 disrupts overall cell homeostasis,leading to Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum with peripheral neuropathy (ACCPN).
