Alan Lewis lab

The lab is interested in the neurobiology underlying social impairments across neuropsychiatric disorders including autism, schizophrenia, and epilepsy. Previously, it has been shown that the dentate gyrus, part of the hippocampus, plays a role in regulating aggression. Currently, we are looking at the role of mossy cells, comprising a large subset of neurons in the dentate gyrus, in regulating social and aggressive behavior.
