My thesis project has three main objectives: 1) the discovery of chemical probes targeting cation chloride cotransporters, 2) the study of the effect of pharmacological modulation of cation chloride cotransporters in the context of epilepsy, and 3) the elucidation of fundamental aspects of cation chloride cotransporter biology. We use high-throughput screening and other chemical biology/pharmacological approaches to achieve these goals.
