CD8 T cells specific for (mutated) tumor antigens found within solid tumors are often dysfunctional, allowing tumors to progress. I am studying the very early interactions between hepatocytes and naive tumor-specific T cells using a liver organoid model to determine how these T cells become dysfunctional.
