The Hong lab specializes in translating basic chemical and biological discoveries in a zebra fish model into novel therapies targeting the cardiovascular system. In particular we aim to identify targets amenable to short term benchmarks of efficacy that will also improve long term outcomes in heart failure patients. My project focuses on identifying and characterizing the biological target(s) of the small molecule Eggmanone in a human induced pluripotent stem cell-cardiomyocyte model.
