Our lab focuses on using the electronic medical record to discover genome-phenome associations to better understand disease and drug response using the electronic health record (EHR). We focus on novel methods to explore genotype-phenotype correlation, having first developed the phenome-wide association study (PheWAS) and phenotype risk score (PheRS) approaches. We also lead phenotyping and curation efforts for the All of Us Research Program as the Data and Research Center – which is collecting 1 million individuals across the US that will answer surveys, share EHR data, and will have genotyping and whole-genome sequencing.
