The goal of my project is to provide a framework to understand how Clostridioides difficile binary toxin (CDT) functions and enhances C. difficile pathogenesis. I will use biochemical and structural techniques, such as cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography and binding assays, to investigate CDT interfaces and thus further decipher the mechanism of CDT intoxication.
