We know that microtubule-dependent reorganization of Golgi is essential for cell cycle progression. The goal of my project is to determine the actual mechanism that drives this Golgi reorganization. I plan to utilize Ciliobrevin D, an inhibitor of microtubule minus-end directed motor dynein, which may be the driving force of different Golgi configuration modes.
