I study the human antibody response to flavivirus infection. Using B-cells derived from human survivors of infection, I isolate monoclonal antibodies that display protective characteristics, namely neutralization of the virus of interest. These studies can result in new antibody-based therapeutics, and can also assist in guiding the rational design of novel vaccines.
