My research project investigates the role of mGlu7, a metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype, in neurodevelopmental disorders. Our lab previously demonstrated that mGlu7 expression and signaling is decreased in a mouse model of Rett syndrome. I am interested in understanding how mGlu7 deficiency affects physiology and behavior more broadly in order to validate mGlu7 as a therapeutic target for Rett syndrome and related disorders.
