For my dissertation research, I will be elucidating the molecular basis of drug resistance and EMT in colon cancer. Another avenue that I will be exploring is how small extracellular vesicles, nanoparticles, and their respective cargo can lead to acquired drug resistance and increase metastatic potential in recipient cells. Overall, my research focus is centered on identifying novel molecular markers of colon cancer, determining their function, and how trafficking of these particles can disseminate cancer characteristics.
