I am interested in the molecular components that direct gap junction specificity. Importantly, I have identified transcriptionally-regulated genes of conserved signaling pathways involved in gap junction specificity. My research utilizes the model organism C. elegans to address a fundamental neuroscience question that has yet to be understood in a living system.
