I am working on epigenetic mechanisms underlying long-term stable changes in the circadian rhythm in the mammalian brain. More specifically, I am interested in how light stimuli affect DNA methylation in the SCN, the master pacemaker tissue, and lead to regulation of the circadian rhythm period. My project involves analyses of DNA methylation profiles on candidate genes and of circadian rhythms at molecular, intercellular, and behavioral levels.
