Overall, I am interested in how epigenetic features control cell fate decisions. Specifically, I want to understand how the activities of specific enhancer elements contribute to human embryonic stem cell differentiation. To do this, I am working to develop a novel method that will allow us to look at enhancer activity changes on a genome wide scale. Once validated, I plan to apply this method to comparative time course studies involving the directed differentiation of hESCs to early progenitors of specific germ layers.
