MSTP Halftime Party
The MSTP G2 class, who are halfway through the arduous MD/PhD program, celebrate their accomplishments at the “Halftime” event every year. This event starts with a talk by Dean Balser, President and CEO of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and one of the first MD/PhD graduates from Vanderbilt, who gives words of advice to the students to keep persevering. Students also receive their "MP" degrees (half an MD, half a PhD). This year’s halftime celebration was at 5th and Taylor on May 29, 2018. Although their medical school classmates who joined Vanderbilt with them are graduating and moving on to residency, they still have a long but rewarding journey ahead.
