Welcome, Future Innovators!

We’re seeking an energetic cohort of students who want to transform health care through medical innovation. Successful applications demonstrate exceptional maturity, leadership, and teamwork capabilities, as well as a history of creativity and perseverance.

How to Apply

1. You must be admitted into Vanderbilt’s Medical School in order to apply.
2. Redcap Survey including one short essay (300-500 words) and brief responses to our Core Values are required along with your CV.3.
3. Interviews or Interactions
4. In-person info sessions, a collaborative problem-solving session with other applicants, and time with our admissions committee are also part of the interview process. We look forward to getting to know you and seeing you work as part of an innovative team.

MIDP Admissions Timeline

• April 1 – MIDP application opens for admitted students only
• April 3 – June 12 – 20-minute zoom interviews with applicants
• April 13 – June 13 – Letters of Intent from VUSM accepted students after their zoom interviews who want to participate in the Design Challenge
• June 10 – Deadline to apply
• August – October – Design Challenges will be on Wednesdays from 12:00-2:00 p.m. (These will in no way interfere with mandatory activities and assessments.)
• Accepted letters to applicants, waitlist, etc., the week after Design Challenges end.
• October 9 – First forum with new M1 MIDP students
