Wuqu’ Kawoq Maya Health Alliance
Founded in 2007, Wuqu’ Kawoq Maya Health Alliance works to overcome barriers to health – uniting medicine, culture, and language. As the only health organization in Guatemala to provide high-quality health care in Mayan languages, Wuqu’ Kawoq operates on the beliefs that you should not have to choose between your culture and your health, you should be able to talk to your doctor in your own language, where you were born should not determine if you live or die, you should not feel locked out of your own health care system, and everyone should have the highest quality health care.
