Students in the Vanderbilt MPH Program have access to a variety of career and professional development trainings designed to suit learners at every career stage. Offerings range from one-on-one consultations to small-group, professional skills-building trainings to prepare students for success in the next stage of their career or education.
MPH Career and Professional Development Series – Fall 2024 Schedule
This series is designed for MPH students and open to all Vanderbilt students interested in careers in public health.
First-year MPH students are required to attend at least three sessions during the year; second-year students are required at attend at least two sessions during the year. Attendance at the Translational Research Forum and EIP Day not included.

Edge Seminars and Newman Society Seminars
These in-person seminars cover a wide range of career development topics such as grant writing, presentation skills, career timeline, and getting a job in academia. Lunch is provided and sessions are open to all!
Students in the MPH Program are invited participate in many of the offerings from career services offices across the university. These resources are designed for students in multiple fields with a range of career paths.
In addition, the Vanderbilt MPH Program provides students with individualized career advising, as well as CV/resume reviews and interview preparation upon request. Contact your track director, Brad, or Elizabeth to schedule an appointment.
The Writing Studio provides one-on-one in-person and online consultations to assist students with resumes and CVs, cover letters, application essays, and more.
