Michael Blaha, M.D., M.P.H.
Director, Clinical Research, Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease, Johns Hopkins University
Dr. Michael Blaha is director of clinical research at the Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease at Johns Hopkins University and recently weighed in on the shortcomings of a new online cardiovascular risk calculator for an article in the New York Times. According to his research published in JAMA on November 20, 2013, a novel method to estimate LDL-C provides more accurate guideline risk classification and can be implemented into clinical practice easily and at virtually no cost. Blaha received his M.D. and M.P.H. degrees from Vanderbilt University in 2006.
