BMillerMD.jpgWelcome to the Office of Health Sciences Education (OHSE) virtual home. The OHSE governs the range of educational activities of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, including undergraduate medical education/MD program, graduate medical education, and physician continuing professional development, as well as several advanced degree programs in applied medical fields. Based in Light Hall, our office serves VUSM students, house staff, and faculty throughout the continuum of medical education. The office also directs activities of services that support these academic programs, including the Office of Educational Informatics and Technology; the Center for Experiential Learning and Assessment; faculty/educator development programs; financial and human resources functions; student support services; and health sciences education research support resources.

The Office of Health Sciences Education is dedicated to an ultimate goal of healthy, thriving persons and communities, and we strongly support efforts towards the health equity upon which such a goal rests. Read our formal social mission statement.

It is my honor to lead the OHSE during this exciting time of change and opportunity at the School of Medicine. We strive to foster an environment that encourages innovation and excellence and that provides an atmosphere of collegiality and teamwork. Whether you are new to the School of Medicine or a long-time member of this community, thanks for your visit.
