PDP Student Organizations

From social mixers to volunteer opportunities, the PDP Student Activities Board, or PSAB, plans events specifically for the PDP students of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

PHSA - The Public Health Student Association (PHSA) is a student-led organization for all students with a passion for public health and service. PHSA welcomes students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional from any major or field of study) from all backgrounds who are interested in becoming more involved in public health and the health field!

Pride in Medicine - Pride In Medicine is devoted to maintaining an active LGBTQ+ community at VUSM, educating VUSM students and faculty on topics in LGBTQ healthcare and culture, and advocating for change benefiting LGBTQ+ individuals both in VUSM and in the broader Nashville community. Pride In Medicine is a chapter of the Medical Student Pride Alliance.

Social Mission Committee - VUSM Social Mission Committee (SMC) is a medical student-run organization dedicated to advancing the VUSM Social Mission Statement: Vanderbilt University School of Medicine empowers students, faculty, and staff to actively partner with individuals and communities to achieve health equity.
Society of Saints Cosmas & Damian - The SSCD exists to provide support and community to Christian, particularly Catholic, medical students at Vanderbilt, so that they may grow in their faith throughout the course of their medical training. To accomplish this, we aim to connect students with one another and with Catholic physicians, both locally and nationally, through a strong relationship with the wider Catholic Medical Association.

Vanderbilt Educational Garden Initiative (VEGI) - VEGI operates a community garden, greenhouse, and composting facility on the grounds of the university. The garden serves as a learning laboratory to provide hands-on education in urban farming to Vanderbilt students. The fruits of our labor are distributed to patients attending the Shade Tree Clinic, a free community clinic for uninsured Tennesseans.
VUSM Students for a National Health Program Club
VUSM Literature, Arts, and Medicine (LAM) - LAM is a student-run organization at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine dedicated to promoting and celebrating art in all forms, to foster community around creative expression at VUSM, and to provide a forum by which students can cultivate, practice, and showcase their artistic talents.

Genetic Counseling Club -The Genetic Counseling club seeks to take advantage of the connection to the master’s degree in Genetic Counseling program at Vanderbilt, and to introduce students and club members to the field. We hope students that are interested in psychology, counseling, medicine, genetics, etc. can connect with other classmates and future colleagues through club activities.

National Student Speech, Language, & Hearing Association - This organization is the Vanderbilt Chapter of the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association. We strive to enhance our members education professionally, academically, and socially throughout the year by hosting events along with other opportunities. We are made up of graduate students currently studying Speech Language Pathology and Audiology in addition to undergraduate students who are interested in one of these two careers.

Vanderbilt Student Academy of Audiology - The mission of the Vanderbilt University Chapter of SAA is to serve as a collective voice for students within the chapter area and to advance the rights, interests, and welfare of students pursuing careers in audiology. Chapters will engage students in lifelong professional activities that promote and advance the profession of audiology, and provide services, information, education, representation and advocacy for the profession and the public we serve.
