Research Interests: I am interested in the pathophysiology of acute respiratory distress syndrome in critical illness. Specifically, I study mechanisms of pulmonary microvascular endothelial dysfunction in sepsis. My work currently focuses on defining the role of cell-free hemoglobin in endothelial glycocalyx injury.
