Research Description
J. Oliver McIntyre, Ph.D., is a graduate of Cambridge University (Cambridge, England), earning a B.A. and M.A. in Biochemistry. He earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Biophysics at Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining the Vanderbilt Radiology faculty in 2012 as Research Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, Dr. McIntyre served on the Vanderbilt faculty for the Departments of Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences and Cancer Biology for 32 years. His research is focused primarily on preclinical studies of cancer and the tumor microenvironment using novel approaches with translational potential to address clinical challenges including: the early detection of cancer, the delivery of targeted therapy, monitoring anti-tumor drug efficacy and treating metastatic disease.
