In the Balko lab I study B7-H4, a protein predicted to suppress tumor infiltrating lymphocytes, in the context of breast cancer. I am using murine-derived and human breast cancer cell lines to uncover the mechanism of B7-H4 regulation. I also use murine orthotopic tumor models to determine how B7-H4 affects the infiltrating immune cell and whether it causes resistance to anti-PD-L1 immunotherapy.
