Xuanzi (Shirley) Qin

Postdoctoral Fellow, Health Policy


I am a 1st year postdoctoral research fellow working with Dr. Stacie Dusetzina at the Department of Health Policy. I received my PhD in Health Services Research, Policy & Administration with a focus on health economics and clinical outcomes from University of Minnesota. I received my MSPH in Health Policy and Health Services Research from Emory University. I received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Biopharmaceutical Engineering and a Bachelor of Economics degree in Finance from South China University of Technology. My dissertation examined how drug patent, out-of-pocket costs, subsidies and clinical factors affect cancer treatment decisions, bridging economic perspectives and clinical perspectives. For my postdoctoral research, I am interested in understanding the use of genetic testing and subsequent use of cancer targeted therapies.
