Inclement Weather Policy

The MPH Program follows the School of Medicine’s procedures for inclement weather. If classes are canceled, an announcement will be sent from the Office of Health Sciences Education or Bonnie Miller, M.D., Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Senior Associate Dean for Health Sciences Education. We will forward this message to all MPH faculty members who classes might be affected as well as the students.

Winter weather may make road conditions unsafe, even if classes are not canceled by the School of Medicine. In this situation, faculty and students are urged to use their best judgment about commuting in inclement weather. Safety is our primary concern.

  • If a course instructor is unable to get to campus safely, please notify students and a member of the MPH staff by email.
  • If a student is are unable to get to campus due to the weather, he or she should notify the course instructor and make arrangements with the instructor to make up any missed work.

For canceled class sessions, Rebecca Mohr can help schedule make-up classes.

Students taking courses in a department or program outside the School of Medicine should contact the instructor for inclement weather plans and procedures.
