Advice from a previous MPH student:
“One thing that I found helpful was before beginning a lesson, I jumped to the summary. The summary gives you a printable page that describes all the codes that you will be learning within that lesson. It is much easier to just take additional notes next to the notes already provided in the summary.
You can do all the training modules on a computer that doesn’t have SAS installed, however, throughout the modules they have “Practice Lessons” where they will give you the dataset and a scenario and ask you to perform some of the analysis steps that you just learned. There is a button at the end that will allow you to view the solution, so you can make sure that you are performing the steps correctly. At a minimum, I would at least read through the steps and talk your way through some of the manipulations just to ensure your understanding.”
