Student Employment

Most students in the MPH Program work outside the classroom – in part-time student employment positions, in off-campus jobs, or through a VUMC clinical fellowship, residency, or training program.

Examples of MPH student on-campus jobs:

  • Research Assistant for a faculty member, department, or on a specific grant or project
  • Residential Advisor (free on-campus housing and meal plan)

Examples of MPH student off-campus jobs:

  • Private tutor
  • Yoga instructor
  • Server at a restaurant
  • Apple Store employee

The MPH Program does not place students in part-time positions, but we can provide linkages to different resources across campus. This page includes resources for students seeking part-time (up to 20 hours/week) student employment positions on campus.

Student Employment Resources

The Office of Student Employment is the first stop for students seeking part-time positions on campus. Students can initiate the job search by logging on to Vanderbilt's online student job bank, HireADore. The Office of Student Employment also has details about getting paid at Vanderbilt, and information for international students seeking campus employment.
