Surplussing and Equipment Delivery

Instructions for Surplussing Equipment. Click on the appropriate box below.

Delivery Protocols

  • Delivering lab equipment to LH+RRB+PRB (VU Labs in a Vanderbilt Health-owned building, Aug 2025)

The RRB loading docks are where equipment is delivered for RRB, PRB and Light Hall.

Schedule drop off dates with Jon Gallioto with SOMBS Facilities and Mark Reyes of Vanderbilt Health.

Always try to arrange for “white glove” delivery (where they will bring the item TO YOUR LAB and not just delivery to dock/curb here).

Try to also arrange for delivery to include removal of packing materials, such as wooden pallets or crates. Removal of these shipping materials requires a chargeable work order which incurs additional costs for your lab.

Heavy items may require a pallet jack – the BCHM office does NOT have one available to borrow.

Notes: Please note that the alley is designated as a fire lane, and therefore VU/Vanderbilt Health are unable to authorize parking in that area. Vanderbilt Health has reminded us that Medical Center building delivery docks must be scheduled in advance. Any vehicles left in the alley without clearance are subject to towing without warning

  • FedEx Deliveries to MRBIII and MCN (July 2026)

FedEx deliveries to MRBIII and MCN may no longer be delivered directly to individual labs. The FedEx driver who had been making those direct deliveries has retired, and FedEx’s current process is to deliver packages to the MRBIII loading dock.

Until a more permanent solution is in place, labs expecting FedEx deliveries should check the following locations:

    • MRBIII loading dock before 3:00 p.m.
    • VUMC Central Receiving, MCN A-00308
    • VUMC Central Receiving, TVC B702

    VUMC Central Receiving phone: 615-343-5137

For critical or temperature-sensitive shipments, including items shipped on ice or dry ice, Vanderbilt Health Central Receiving has provided the following contacts:

To help reduce delays, FedEx labels should include the recipient’s full name, building abbreviation and room number, full street address, and any department or lab information needed to identify the recipient.
